proximus generation movie project

Posted on | April 9, 2009 | No Comments

smart marketing and branding move by proximus, a belgium telecommunication provider. they ask their target group to participate in their newest tv campaign. definitely not the newest idea in itself but the project is actually quite interesting and fun. you shoot photos of yourself and/or friends and upload them to a website where you replace storyboard frames with you images, eventually creating a movie.

those who participate will definitely send the movie around a lot and spread the word. so, the marketing guys from proximus tagged themselves as innovative, part of the new generation, fun and make their customers and target groups to brand ambassadors.

branding, from the bottom up

Posted on | March 12, 2009 | No Comments

it doesn’t always have to be the big initiative. sometimes the small things have a big impact and stand out more the the crazy advertising that gets lost in the media clutter. lego does not only has cool products but they apparently understand branding too.

according to positivesharing.com lego even tries to match the look of the minifig to the actual employee (gender, hair, glasses). as cool as it is they only provide executives, marketing and pr folks with them. seems like these kind of cards aren’t as cheap for lego as you might think. fun nevertheless.

make my logo bigger

take a look at this funny web video. unfortunetaly for those who work in design and all related fields they do know that there is a lot of truth to it. painful client meetings to eliminate white space and increase logo sizes. although i have to say, some designer take it to the extreme opposite direction. does someone know a website which “promotes” that? make my logo smaller (so i can’t read it at all anymore). but seriously the “make my logo bigger” video and website is funny.

get your stationery upgraded

simple but fun tool. hp and burton partnered up regarding brand identity. a new web section of hp’s corporate website not only gives insight into burton’s history of branding but offers also a tool to get a stationery design within minutes – provided in a pdf form. having seen many bad identities throughout my life and knowing what those shitty train station machines offer and cost this is quite cool.

hp and burton – branding tools.
