konstruct sculpture app

Posted on | May 26, 2011 | No Comments

interesting augmented reality art/sculpture app done by james alliban. your voice or any sounds and noise lets you create 3 dimensional objects within a given setting. obviously this wasn’t done with any specific purpose in mind other then exploring the possibilities of AR but it’s interesting to think about how this could be translated into the commercial space.

pretty insane printing technology and nice 3D image popping out of a flat surface done by zebra imaging.

extremely cool facade

Posted on | July 28, 2009 | No Comments a multimedia firm from bremen, germany is specialized in big wall projections with a special twist. the stuff they did for the “gallerie der gegenwart” (modern gallery) in hamburg, germany (see the video below) is pretty amazing.

plastic bags like silk dresses

Posted on | May 3, 2009 | No Comments

wow, take a look at how poetic these prints look like, almost as if they were a modern still-life painting. the chinese artist huang xu takes shreds of used plastic bags and makes 3d scans, then takes the scan data and turns them into 3d models, illuminates them and makes prints of it. pretty amazing if you think about turning one of the cheapest products on earth, a simple plastic bag into a silk dress impression – a metaphor of the old and new china.

shit, this is cool
