what were they thinking?

this is by far now the most terrible commercial i have seen produced by motorola in the last couple of years. can it get any cheesier? what were those guys from motorola thinking and what have they done to the brand? i’d like to ask the same question the guys from ogilvy in london who came up with that shit.
the batwing was in such a good spot (leaving the product quality aside for a second). it was the only fashionable and progressive cell phone brand doing interesting stuff. and now?

definitely different and that’s a start but i have two issues. i don’t get, why just women? the other thing i’d say is the average age of those people shown in the commercial is a bit high and probably unattractive to younger tea drinkers. it has a little bit of an old folks home going nuts.
pin-up horses

quite interesting and fun idea the photographer julian wolkenstein executed. he took horses, gave them hair extensions and shot them like pin-up girls. doing one image a day this was a pretty intense shoot he says and it almost took 3/4 of a day to get the horses hair done – poor stylist.
think he has some other interesting shots in his portfolio but this feels unique, it’s something new i haven’t seen before. and, the horses look pretty hot i think.

proximus generation movie project

smart marketing and branding move by proximus, a belgium telecommunication provider. they ask their target group to participate in their newest tv campaign. definitely not the newest idea in itself but the project is actually quite interesting and fun. you shoot photos of yourself and/or friends and upload them to a website where you replace storyboard frames with you images, eventually creating a movie.
those who participate will definitely send the movie around a lot and spread the word. so, the marketing guys from proximus tagged themselves as innovative, part of the new generation, fun and make their customers and target groups to brand ambassadors.

pretty interesting sprint tv commercial and definitely a new look and feel that sprint offers us through their creative shop goodby silverstein & partners from san francisco.
it’s refreshing to see a nicely art directed and designed tv piece – doesn’t happen often. also like the sound design and voice over a lot.

not necessarily the funniest viral movies i’ve ever seen but worth watching. and the product is fun, so what the fxxx, right? definitely somewhat different then the usual condom advertising of just the product and a funny or provocative line to go with it. this is about having fun and that comes across.
